MHR’s featured characters, the Seed Pals, have titled positions throughout our lesson stories and resource materials. The Seed Pals are a diverse set of five characters: shown below, starting from the left with Nito, AK, Mo, Jaylee and Fawn representing the Hispanic, Caucasian, African American, Asian American and Native American Indian cultures. They become familiar positive images, that are used to model and encourage healthy choices and can impact children of all ethnic backgrounds. Seed Pals can also be instrumental in stimulating conversations that might be challenging between children and adults.
